The tooling stack
Virtual camera software feeds a looped or staged video stream to the proctoring app while the real screen runs through remote desktop. Kernel-level remote-access tools avoid the process lists that proctoring software scans. Each layer of standard proctoring has a commodity bypass.
Keystroke and behavior drift
The strongest signals are behavioral: typing cadence that changes mid-exam, answer timing that shifts from fast to slow between sections, and navigation patterns that differ from the candidate's own practice exams. These hold up even when the video feed is perfect.
Content protection is the backstop
When identity layers fail, item security still limits the damage. Rotating item pools, per-candidate item variants, and rapid retirement of harvested questions cut the resale value of both proxy passes and stolen content.
